New Melones Reservoir

Fishing is wonderful year-round at New Melones Lake. New Melones Lake one of the best lakes for Brown trout in the lower Sierras and can exceed tweleve pounds in this lake. There is also exceptional fishing for Kokanee salmon, exceeding three pounds (small, feisty relatives of salmon, and regarded by some as the best tasting of any freshwater fish). Kokanee tournaments have embraced the lake in recent years. Rainbows in this lake can reach six pounds. Limits are always possible. This is a must fish lake!
